But there is little comfort when you sit there with your favorite blow, the scarlet of the grandmother or the little pencils in your hands and realize that it’s not all that goes out of the laundry – despite all the promises of just spraying, the stain disappears. on 1-2-3.

Something bad is getting worse than anything else – we can probably all sign, but before you laugh, throw or buy new ones, it might be worth trying one of these smart tips.

Water eliminates most

There are many myths and wizards about stain removal, and many are confused by vague, contradictory and often strange advice. Can you really remove red wine with white wine? Is detergent a multicolor that removes much of the most? And can you really remove stains with vinegar?

But what many often forget is that when it comes to stain removal – like most else maybe – it’s simple too often this is the very best.

– The most effective way to solve most of the stains, no matter what type, is water, explains textile expert and researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Consumer Research, SIFO, Ingun Klepp, to Click Housing..

– Two things are absolutely crucial when it comes to removing spots; to rush out quickly with clean water.

Klepp explains that water has a great ability to clean up a lot of mess, but you need to know how to flush for the best results..

– If there is a garment or a cloth you have spilled something on, you should get to a bathroom or kitchen as soon as possible, because you need a sink and tap where you can catch running water.

Then do the following:

Take off the garment and pull it over the jump.

Remember: The stain should be in the mouth of the faucet.

Then let the water run gently through the garment where the stain is.

Turn the garment inside out, making sure the water flows through the stain also from the backside.

– In other words, it means that the water will flow through the stain opposite the way in relation to how the stain is attached to the laundry, explains Grimstad Klepp.

– The reason you should do this is because then the water will “squeeze” the stain out of the fabric – a far more effective way to clean than just rinse the garment from one side.

Finish by pressing dry with a paper towel and be sure to wash the machine as soon as you are home or have reason.

She agrees with Klepp that it pays to be out soon when the accident occurs.

What is stain removal agent?

Removal agents are chemicals that dissolve, bleach, neutralize or flush out stains. They consist partly of liquids and partly of solids that are dissolved in water. Most stain removal agents can be purchased at grocery stores.

The appropriate stain removal agent is selected on the basis of knowledge of the nature of the substance and the stain. On all garments that are sold in Norway, there must be an indication of how to clean them. Some are marked with symbols, f. example. symbols that mean the garment is washable.

– It’s a good rule of thumb for all types of stains, rinse as fast as you can, preferably first with clean water.

Then you have to decide what the spot consists of, explains Skaar – in order to best determine how to remove it.

Dishwasher detergent

– Let’s start with fat spots, which many people will experience wearing clothes, as much food consists of just fat, explains the cleaning expert.

– These are usually removed most efficiently with a detergent that takes grease stains, such as dish soap – Zalo is super to this.

The procedure consists of pouring a few drops of Zalo on the stain and rub gently until you see that the stain begins to dissolve.

– Once you have rubbed away as much of the stain as possible, rinse well and wash your garment on your usual wash program as soon as you have the opportunity, “explains Skaar..

– This actually takes a break on the vast majority of stains that are fat-based.

Stains with strong color – like red wine

Red wine spots are spitting most of the fears – and for good reason.

It may be difficult to get red on redfish spots, especially if they have had time to recover. And the more tartaric acid it is in the wine, the more difficult it will be, “explains Skaar.

And the expert warns against listening too much to the core.

– I know that there are myths about washing white wine with red wine, or to rub away the stain with salt, explains Skaar and continues:

– But I tend to warn against these and think that unfortunately you can often get worse at trying out these so-called tricks.

Instead, the expert recommends liquid detergent.

– Let this work for at least 20 minutes, but usually half an hour, Scissors.

– Then throw the garment in the machine at the temperature the garment allows. And do not worry rinsing the detergent, wash the garment with this on for an extra cleaning boost.

When it comes to stains of tomato sauce, there are many who have had to say it beats and end up throwing the garbage garment.

But if the accident has been out, try the following tricks:

“Hanging light clothes that have streaked out in the sun is the best and the cheapest you do,” explains Charlotte Sagvik at Citymaid Hjemmeservice AS in Oslo to Klik Bolig.

– This has proven to be very effective when it comes to stains of tomato sauce, which is notoriously difficult to get rid of.

It works like sunbathing stains the stain away.

The baby that spills milk and has dinner on the wool body and sauce on the silk bottle: Eating often causes spills, both too big and too small, and it is easy to get over the stains on clothes that, according to the wash cloth, can not be washed once.

– These are a challenge, but not impossible to get clean, explains Skaar.

The fibers in wool and silk are a bit sarter than cotton, for example, it will pay off with a detergent intended for these – but aim to pretreat a little to make sure the stain disappears.

Pour some detergent onto the stain and gently push into the fabric.

– But do not rub too much – then you may end up rubing the stain out, warns the scissors.
