The lamp has icon status within lighting design. For 50 years, the lamp with the botanical kettle names has charmed the audience with its sculptural, organic shape and warmth.

The “Konglen” was originally made for the Langelinie pavilion in Copenhagen, where the lights – with a view to the Little Mermaid – still hang. Poul Henningsen was given the task of creating a “festive, warm light” in the restaurant, and the luminaire should be decorative even when the light was turned off.
The first lamps were made of copper and have been in production since. The anniversary edition in gold is shiny glossy, unlike the brushed, slightly matte surface of the classic model. Standard edition is available in copper, stainless steel, brushed and lacquered, or white. This year, a handbag glass edition was part of the assortment.
The anniversary model is only sold through Louis Poulsen Lighting in Copenhagen. On the other hand, it has been shown at several international fairs, and in September it is exhibited in Copenhagen.
Louis Poulsen lamps of more modern design can be purchased at Illum Bolighus (House of Oslo), or through the following online stores (selection and models vary):
